We believe that the breastfeeding journey is best supported from as early as possible. The first few days after birth are foundational, and establishing correct latching and effective feeding practices from the start can make a meaningful difference for both mother and baby, and for partners too. During your hospital stay, we provide personalised, hands-on guidance to help you achieve a comfortable and effective latch, establish healthy feeding patterns, and protect your milk supply. We assist with the prevention and management of common early challenges, while also guiding partners on how they can confidently support the feeding journey. We are available to see you throughout your hospital stay, ensuring continuity of care during these important early days. Our team works closely with the doctors at our practicing hospitals, allowing for collaborative, professional care. With a dedicated team of therapists, we offer support seven days a week, providing consistent guidance when it matters most. Our aim is that you leave the hospital feeling confident in your feeding plan, empowered in your role, and able to fully embrace and enjoy this beautiful newborn phase. Hospital consultations are available at Netcare Parklane Hospital and Sandton Mediclinic Hospital only. All consultations are billed on a time-based structure and charged at medical aid rates according to the time spent with you. Most medical aids, including Discovery Medical Aid, cover the cost of the consultation while you are admitted to hospital. In these cases, we will claim directly from your medical aid on your behalf. Should your medical aid not cover the consultation, we kindly request that payment be made directly to the practice, and that you submit the claim to your medical aid for reimbursement. You are very welcome to discuss your medical aid plan with us prior to your consultation so that you feel fully informed and comfortable with the process.
